Resources

An Evolving Compilation of Resources for Brown Alumni in the Bay Area:

FIND LOCAL ALUMNI
While not exactly a “local” resource, the Alumni Directory and BRUnet are both great ways to find local alumni.  You can also search by name, year, industry, company, groups, sports, and more.

JOIN THE SFBROWN CLUB
Register and get access to a variety of career, social networking and community-building opportunities. The Association is comprised of several committees that focus on areas such as BASC-applicant interviews, community service, mentoring, business networking, and cultural and social events.

FIND OUT ABOUT MORE LOCAL EVENTS, JOBS, ETC
A Yahoo group where Brown students, faculty and alums can share information, news, events, and more in the Silicon Valley, CA area (loosely defined as spanning Napa / Wine Country in the north through Carmel in the South). With close to 1,000 members, this group is a great way to discover what alums in the area are up to and even find the occasional job posting. The group is moderated by Kevin Epstein, ’92, svbrownalum-at-stupidmarketing-dot-com.

MEET ALUMNI OVER DINNER
Meet for casual dinners with the Carberry Club (that’s us!) Connect with local alumni over dinner conversations about life, work, and all things Brown. How it works: you attend a dinner; you host a dinner. Questions? Email Jim Sinai ‘01 at jimsinai-at-gmail-dot-com or Amie Vaccaro ‘06 at amie.vacarro-at-gmail-dot-com.

GET MENTORED BY A BROWN ALUM
Get involved with the Brown-to-Brown mentoring program as either a mentor or mentee. Email Juliann Sum, ’77 at sfbrownmentoring-at-gmail-dot-com for more information.

VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
Looking for opportunities to volunteer or know of an organization that SFBrown can help out with? Contact Jen Siraganian ’99, the SFBrown Community Service Chair, at writerish4-at-gmail-dot-com

GO TO YOUNG ALUMNI EVENTS
Find out about young alumni events via the Young Alumni Facebook Group (Disclaimer: This page isn’t incredibly active, but SFBrown does post all their event information here.) Questions? Try emailing Jessica Kondrick, ’07 at jkondrick-at-gmail-dot-com
