Ten entrepreneurial alumni got together last night at Andalu in the Mission for dinner and drinks.  Classes from ‘81 to ‘09 were represented.  We all spoke about our specific ventures and interests, some of which included:

Thumbtack (Mike Flaxman ‘07), SlideShare (Jonathan Boutelle ‘97), Aardvark (Tim Bentley ‘04), OPEN Silicon Valley (Naeem Zafar ‘81), AssertID (Joon Nak Choi ‘00), Hill & Co. Real Estate (Mike Tekulsky ‘83), and the Computer History Museum (Marc Weber)

We also spoke briefly about new ways to connect alumni who are involved in entrepreneurial projects in the Bay Area connected and meaningfully interacting.

Special thanks to those who came from the East and South Bay for this dinner, and for Joon Choi for organizing.

11 Brown alumni and a Cornell alumna were welcomed by Jerome Vascellaro, the Vice-Chancellor of Brown, and his wife Mary to their home Friday night.

Perched at the top of Pacific Heights, the home cooked dinner of salmon and chicken with rice and asparagus was delicious (the accompanying insalata caprese had some of the best tomatoes I’ve had in San Francisco).

Wine was poured and everyone shared about themselves and was regaled by Jerome and the many stories he shared with us about Brown and his work for the University.  Photos below!
